One of the most important lessons I have learnt from one of my mentors is to take a few opinions, and one of the most powerful character traits you could ever develop is the ability to self-validate.
Learn to trust yourself and to trust your own judgment from how you look, to a strategic business decision that could change the trajectory of the company you work for.
Taking a few opinions is a game-changer. The only people you should be taking advice from those who already have what you want. Sharing your big dreams and goals with people who have small minds, will only result in confusion, negativity and a lack of clarity and focus.
Think about the last time you had a big idea that you were excited about, and you shared it with somebody who couldn't appreciate what you wanted to do. You probably left that conversation feeling deflated and questioning your own judgment and questioning whether your idea really was worth pursuing. This is the danger of sharing your ideas and taking opinions from those that don't already have the results that you want.
You need to start surrounding yourself with those who are playing the game at a higher level than you so that you can learn from them and follow in their footsteps.
If this is New Territory for you, then start with the smaller things in your life and move on to bigger areas, taking it one step at a time. Remember that all personal development work is a daily practice, so keep going, and soon enough, you'll learn to trust yourself, and you will not need the approval or validation of others.
